This is how the Minister of the Interior, Matteo Piantedosi, announced the start of operations to transfer the first immigrants to the reception center in Gjadër, a former area of the Albanian Air Force abandoned for many years and completely reconstructed. About 400 immigrants will be sent in the first phase.

Piantedosi: The "real" arrival of immigrants
For the head of the Ministry of Interior, the rehabilitation operation for immigrants begins on Monday.

In the port of Shengjin, a "net" has been set up for the identification of immigrants rescued at sea by Italian ships. After collecting personal data, the persons will be transferred to Gjadër, about twenty km inland. Three structures have been set up here: a detention center for asylum seekers (880 places), a CPR (144 places) and a prison (20 places). The structure is closed with a 5-meter high fence with the prefabricated buildings in the center where the immigrants will be placed, while in a second block those whose applications are rejected, destined to be repatriated, will be accommodated.
Procurement transparency and Schlein attack (Pd)
There are those who raise questions about the process used to award contracts. According to what the "Il Domani" newspaper claims , there were direct tasks worth about 60 million euros: dozens of projects that would have been assigned without a tender from the end of March to September.
For the secretary of the Democratic Party, Elly Schlein, "there is a lack of transparency ". For the head of DEM, there is a total of 800 million that could have been spent on healthcare.
" We are against this violation of the fundamental rights of those seeking asylum, which is also a huge waste of Italian taxpayers' money." - she expressed.
