'Partizani' affair, former minister Ylli Pango goes to testify at the GJKKO

Former Minister of Sports, Ylli Pango, has arrived at the premises of the Special Court (GJKKO).

Pango will testify in the next court session regarding the emergency privatization affair of the former "Partizani" complex.

Ylli Pango was appointed Minister of Tourism, Culture, Youth and Sports in March 2007 and held this position until the spring of 2009, during the most intense period of privatization of the former Partizani club, a process that had begun with intensity in 2005, just 2 months after Berisha came to power.

In the "Partizani" file, the role of former Minister Pango is related to the 2008 legal changes to the "Law on Sports", which paved the way for the privatization and change of destination of the club's properties.

The Law on Sports provided at that time in its Article 31 that "sports facilities are granted by concession or privatized, provided that their destination is not changed, in accordance with Law No. 7973, dated 26.7.1995 "On Concessions and Private Sector Participation in Public Services and Infrastructure".
