For 4 days in the Pishporo forest of Fier, the fires continue to be active, causing the burning of large areas of land in the protected area.
The difficult area has caused firefighters to request intervention from the air. Over 60 firefighters with 3 firefighting vehicles and members of the Armed Forces are fighting the flames.
Meanwhile, yesterday around 16:00, due to the impossibility of operating deeper, the troops of the Armed Forces withdrew.
But, around 18:00, due to the increasing intensity of the wind, the fire situation got out of control.
In these conditions, assessing the possible risks, the engagement of the Ministry of Health services from Lushnja, Divjaka, Patosi, and Roskoveci was requested.
In total, 8 vehicles and 45 operatives operated on the ground until 24:00. Then, 5 fire engines and their officers were withdrawn due to the impossibility of intervention.
In order to monitor the situation, three fire engines with relevant officers stayed near the residential areas throughout the night.
