"The National Food Authority, in the framework of transparency, announces that, referring to an incoming complaint, it has carried out an inspection at the entity "Merja", with an address in the Shkozë neighborhood, Tirana, where from the inspection carried out in the premises of the entity's warehouse, a quantity of 3984 kg of mixed products (mixtures of dried herbs) packaged in plastic bags, but unlabeled, without information on the expiration date, origin or name of the composition, was found.
Based on these findings, the inspection body took the immediate measure of blocking this quantity in the warehouse premises and for actions, contrary to the traceability requirements, an administrative measure "Fine" was taken against the subject in the amount of 200,000 (two hundred thousand) lek. Also, from the verification of the documentation, it resulted that the implementation of the self-control system (monitoring files during the mixing process) was missing, actions contrary to the legal provisions, for this deficiency an administrative measure "Fine" was taken in the amount of 100,000 (one hundred thousand) lek.
"The National Food Authority remains committed on the ground to stop any practice that violates the safety of food products and invites citizens to continue to report any irregularities to the official e-mail [email protected] or toll-free number 08007575," the NFA's announcement states.
