The former mayor of Libohova Municipality, Luiza Mandi, was sentenced today by the Special Anticorruption Court to 1 year in prison, benefiting from a shortened trial of 8 months.
Mandi was accused by SPAK of "abuse of duty", in connection with a report that was filed by a citizen, who denounced the fact that a road widening project was being developed by the Municipality on the property of his family members.
After this report, SPAK seized the project and found that the property of the family members of the citizen in question had been violated.
Luiza Mandi turns out to be outside Albanian territory, while her trial was conducted in absentia.
