The court has left the former mayor of Kukës, Safet Gjici, in prison, accused of active and passive corruption and abuse of office.
While Alma Kaçi, the girl involved in the video of the erotic scandal in his office, has been placed under house arrest.
Alma's lawyer stated that such a measure was taken for her client as she has a small son to take care of and a sick mother, while adding that she is the only one who provides income at home.
"She also has a sick mother, she also brings home income. She has had no accomplices," said Alma's lawyer.
Earlier, Gjici categorically denied that he violated his duty, even though he is accused of passive corruption.
In her testimony at SPAK, the girl claimed that at first it was Gjici who asked her for sexual favors, while later in the case in the video, everything happened on her own accord.
"When I was given the opportunity, I spoke with the mayor Safet Gjici the day before and left the meeting for the next day at 10:00 in the morning. The day I went, I had taken with me a bag and the files with the project I was looking for from the municipality of Kukës regarding dogs. Meanwhile, Safet Gjici wrote me to go at 9:30 and I went to his office.
I entered the mayor's office, where I had with me the bag with the documents and the drink in a cardboard box. After entering the office, I left the documents in the file that I had prepared on the table and the chairman told me "Let's talk later". I left the documents on the table and what happened next is what has circulated on social networks," she said.
