Lawyer Eugen Beçi says that being part of the SKY&ECC application does not make you guilty.
According to the lawyer, the police officers who used the application should not be dismissed as they did not necessarily act in violation of the law.
Beçi says there is no legal basis for the order that whoever used the SKY&ECC app should be removed from office.
"Persons who have used such a SKY&ECC application and from the transcripts they received, are implicated in criminal activity, of course there is no need for an order from the Minister of the Interior to be relieved of their duties or dismissed from the State Police. These persons will certainly be prosecuted by the Special Prosecutor's Office in this case. In terms of people who from the transcripts that may have come, who are users, but are police officers, it is not incrimination or criminality, the fact that they had an application which is later discovered to have been used by criminals. So they are separate moments, we have the criminal case in case it will be followed by evidence and evidence from these transcripts. We also have the propaganda effect that the Minister of the Interior can do in opposition and without support of any legal basis to issue such an order. In the event that this order, although it is not based on the law, would serve and have effects, we must understand that in the Republic of Albania there was not a police user of SKY&ECC, only with two stages of "Metamorphosis", it turned out that there were several police officers who used this application. In the event that these persons have committed criminal activity by receiving and using this application, they will certainly be criminally liable, but in the event that the persons have not committed criminal activity and have not yet been investigated by the Special Prosecutor's Office, there is only one power left which it will have to be from an ethical point of view and not from an exceptional point of view for officers or police employees", said Beçi on Top Channel.
