
The Albanian Road Authority announced that the rehabilitation of the asphalt layers on the Tirana-Durrës road axis will begin.
The road, which has numerous damages and which has been the object of complaints many times in the past years, seems that this year too it will undergo new patches at the beginning of the summer tourist season.
"Within the implementation of the maintenance contract, the rehabilitation of the asphalt layers of the Tirana-Durres road axis will begin today. The work process will start from Sukthi towards Tirana. Work will be done with one lane, temporarily blocked for a length of 500 m, according to approved traffic management schemes in cooperation with the Traffic Police.
One lane of movement will be free for drivers and the other will be temporarily blocked for a length of 500 m. With the completion of the work on this length, the blockage will be moved to another 500 m for the continuation of the work.
In order to avoid accidents, we instruct the drivers to follow the road signs placed in the facility. We ask for the understanding of road users and vehicle drivers for this intervention that will be carried out", announced ARRSH.
Meanwhile, earlier, ARRSH opened the procurement procedures for several important axes, among others, the extension of Tirana-Durra. At the beginning of April, several procedures were opened with a limited fund of 120 million euros, which included the expansion of the Tirana-Durrës highway, reconstruction of the old road Kombinat - Ndroq - Plepa, Lot 1" with a limited fund of 754 million ALL.
Likewise, the expansion of the Elbasan-Qafë Thane road, which is currently being worked on in lots 1-4, while procedures have already been opened for lot 5 with a limit fund of 2.49 billion ALL, lot 6 with a limit fund of 2.48 billion ALL, lot 7 with a fund limit 2.47 billion ALL and lot 8 with 2.49 billion ALL.
Another project is the one for the Berat-Ballaban road, the first lot with a limited fund of 1.9 billion ALL and the second lot with a limited fund of 2.25 billion ALL. The last project lies in the South of the country and is related to the expansion of the Ksamil road, for which a limited fund of 1.66 billion ALL has been provided./Monitor
