" Durres has turned into a serious criminal nursery in the country ." This is what journalist Lavdrim Lita says while commenting on the arrest of another political figure, that of Jurgis Çyrbje.
" There is a problem, especially with the deputies of the Durrës district, even before deputies like Rrahja, subject to the accusations of the opposition, but also of the prosecution, and there is a great suspicion that these deputies have been involved in exchanges of favors with local criminal groups for securing votes and obtaining political or financial advantages in the territory ", he explained in "A2 CNN".
Asked about the stance taken so far by Prime Minister Edi Rama, considering that many of his people are ending up behind bars, Lita emphasized that the head of the government should be concerned about the image of the political force he leads.
" That there are about 30 officials, at different levels, who are under criminal prosecution, for the fact that they have violated the law... There is no control mechanism in the SP, to veto them... ", he said.
The journalist also warned that there will be other strikes against organized crime, but also against their connections in the ranks of politics.
