The predictions in the Criminal Code reveal how many years in prison the ex-MP

Former Socialist MP Jurgis Çyrbja risks 3 to 17 years in prison, if found guilty by the court.

He was arrested today by order of SPAK, accused of 3 criminal offenses: "Active corruption in elections", provided for by Article 328 of the Criminal Code; "Supporting the author of the crime", provided by article 302/1/2 of the Criminal Code, as well as "Trading of state secrets by citizens" provided for by article 295/1 of the Criminal Code.

But what is provided in the Criminal Code for these criminal acts? See below how many years of punishment Çyrbja risks.

Article 328- Active corruption in elections

Offering or giving money, material goods, promise of a job or other favors in any form contrary to the law, to the voter or other persons related to him, in order to obtain the signature for the presentation of a candidate in the election , to vote in a certain way, to participate or not in voting, or to engage in illegal activities to support a candidate or political party, constitutes a criminal offense and is punishable by imprisonment from one year to five years.

Article 302- Supporting the perpetrator of the crime

Providing the perpetrator of a crime with food, other means of living or securing a dwelling, place of residence or in any other way in order to avoid search, capture or arrest, is punishable by a fine or by imprisonment for up to five years .

And this offense when it is committed in connection with the criminal offenses provided for in articles 73, 74, 75, 79, 219, 220, 221, 230, 230/a, 230/b, 231, 232, 232/a, 234/a , 234/b, 284/a, 333 and 333/a of this Code, shall be punished by imprisonment from two to seven years.

Article 295- Disclosure of state secrets by citizens

Telling, disseminating and informing of facts, figures, content of documents or materials that, according to the publicly known law, constitute a state secret, by whoever may have come to know about them, shall be punished with a fine or imprisonment of up to three years.

And this crime, committed universally, is punishable by a fine or imprisonment of up to five years.
