Athens does not find peace, threatens again about the "Beleri" issue:

Greece has brought back the debate regarding the arrest of Fredi Beleri. After the attempts to intervene in the judiciary failed, it seems that now Athens is playing the European integration card.

Foreign Minister Giorgos Gerapetritis threatened today that Albania's European perspective is related to respecting the rights of the Greek national minority.

Speaking about EU enlargement at an international conference in Athens, Gerapetritis emphasized that Athens cannot accept candidate countries that do not meet the membership criteria "and above all the basic principles of the European building, such as especially democracy and the rule of law". .

He specifically referred to the case of Fredi Belleris, following the principle of respecting the rule of law.

" Albania must prove that it respects the rights of the Greek national minority and the rule of law ," the Foreign Minister emphasized.

On the other hand, he tried to show that Greece is the one that has the fate of the region in hand as far as the European aspiration is concerned.

" In these difficult times, a strong, resilient and comprehensive EU, with the aim of achieving strategic autonomy, is the cornerstone of peace and prosperity for its citizens ", he emphasized.

Greece tried to make this issue a problem to the US, but Washington cut off its hopes. A day ago, a spokesperson for DASH did not answer at all when asked, while in another case, DASH said that Albania operates according to its laws. Meanwhile, Prime Minister Rama reacted again today, trying to show that he does not interfere with justice.

" Someone is saying that when it comes to a very hot potato in the hands of justice, like that of Mr. Beleri, I should intervene and throw the potato into the sea, but this will never happen. And I will only repeat to the annoyance of many, that the fight against corruption and organized crime will only deepen, despite the pain and costs, because this fight is right and necessary for the European Albania of all the children of this country. Unfortunately, the shadow of the stereotype that corruption is the way of life in the Balkans and everyone is the same, so everyone should be pointed at, no matter what they do to prove the opposite, extends to the roofs of the offices of Western capitals, "he said . .
