In the presence of the Greek ambassador in Tirana and the lawyers who came from Athens for this case, the Court of Appeal dismissed yesterday the 6th request in a row for the release of Fredi Beleri, the elected mayor of Himara.
Lawyer Jordan Daci, invited to "Studio Live" on Report TV, said that the presence of foreign lawyers in Tirana was more for show than for the protection of Beler.

Greece is a democratic country, we cannot say that it is not a democratic country just because some incident happened ", he said.
The Greek side's appeal to Prime Minister Edi Rama to release Beler, according to the lawyer, is meaningless. If Rama intervenes, according to Daci, he would be committing a serious criminal offence.
" These are not lawyers because if they are lawyers, the only appeal they can make is to the court by letter. If we have learned the principles of the rule of law with Socrates and Aristotle, they cannot come to us with other philosophies. If this situation were in Greece, it would be different from us. On the contrary. Throughout the Balkans, but also in some European countries, including Greece, the bad luck dominates the arrest in prison for most criminal offenses of this category. Not only has the government not, on the contrary, Rama would commit a criminal offense if he interfered. The Prime Minister has not thought of committing a criminal offense. The law provides criteria when permits are obtained. It has nothing to do with the prime minister ," he said.
According to him, Beler is being discussed only politically and this has made his position even more difficult.
