Lawyer Kujtim Cakrani has declared with conviction that former President Ilir Meta, who is currently in detention, will be released within this month.

Asked by journalist Anduena Llabani when he expects Mr. Meta's release, the lawyer replied: "Within this month, I will bring Mr. Meta to the studio. You will have him on News24, with evidence and facts."

Lawyer Cakrani did not provide further details on the legal basis of this statement, but implied that the defense team has important materials that could influence the change in the security measure for the leader of the Freedom Party.

Ilir Meta is in custody by decision of the Criminal Court of Kosovo, as part of investigations into issues related to assets and corruption allegations, while he himself has described the allegations as politically fabricated.
