Lawyer Edmond Petraj said that Albanians in Greece are arrested and tried without evidence. In an interview for "Abc News", he stated that there is no equality in the treatment of convicts in Greece.
According to the lawyer, at least eight cases were recorded when Albanians were left in prison even after the end of the sentence.
"There are many processes where Albanians are arrested without evidence, tried without evidence, without an interpreter. There are several processes in which the Albanians do not know what they were arrested for, what they were sent to prison for. The idea is that if a team is not set up to analyze, the Albanian state must take care of all Albanians in all the prisons of the world. Albanians are in an unprecedented situation. Without a translator, or with translators who do not know Albanian well. Scandalous things. We have facts, people have died who beat the guards. Albanians are considered goods without a god, they don't count at all, there is a kind of situation that must end. They are scandalous cases. The situation must change. Only 6 months ago, we recorded 8 cases that were forgotten in Greek prisons. It should be 2200-2400 cases in total" , he said.
