Colonel Dritan Demiraj spoke about the situation in the Western Balkans and how endangered it is by tensions, stressing that the Western Balkans continues to be part of the Kremlin's plans.
"In my judgment, the Western Balkans continues to be part of the Kremlin's plans for what is known as a hybrid war that Russia calls the war of the new generation, it is a military doctrine created in 2013. A part of this hybrid war that has all kinds of internal wars, misinformation are the use of individuals of the secret services so that all the attacks the respective country in which these people originate are not held responsible", he said.
Demiraj also touched on the Russian influence in Albania, saying that it has increased a lot in Albania.
According to him, the government should take this fact seriously.
"Russian influence has increased a lot in Albania and the government must take it very seriously. They are elements of war, despite the fact that no weapons are used, the damage is greater. Whereas General Stavridis was the commander of the European Supreme Command. I believe that the US and the EU have clearly understood that the investment to bring the Serbian president closer to the West has been in vain. Whenever Putin wants to create tension, he sends Dodik to Moscow. Now over 450 mercenaries are ready. All these mercenaries have completed training. Their goal is to create instability. They are waiting for the order to destabilize the north of Kosovo. In this situation, Kosovo must do its duty, in special cooperation with the USA", Demiraj said, among other things, on ABC News.
