Former Deputy Prime Minister Belinda Balluku has appealed to the Supreme Court, requesting the lifting of the suspension measure from office, imposed on her at the request of SPAK and approved by the GJKKO in November 2025. The measure has also been left in force by the other two levels of the judiciary.
The appeal was filed today and the Supreme Court's decision on its request is now awaited.
In October 2025, Balluku was indicted on charges of violating equality in the Llogara Tunnel tender. A month later, she was also investigated for the procedures related to the 7 lots of the Grand Ring Road, and she was also suspended from her duties as Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Infrastructure.
Although Prime Minister Edi Rama dismissed him from office in February 2026, the suspension measure remains in force, following the Constitutional Court's decision that confirmed its validity.
Balluk has also been banned from leaving the country. The former number two in the government had requested the lifting of this measure, but the Supreme Court rejected her appeal.
Belinda Balluku is accused of violating equality in the Llogara Tunnel tender, while she is also under investigation for the 7 lots of the Greater Ring Road and is also suspected of involvement in three other tenders.
