The head of the Socialist Party Parliamentary Group, Taulant Balla, has reacted after the appearance of a symbolic coffin at the national protest held this Saturday in front of the Prime Minister's Office.
Through a public reaction, Balla claims that the people who brought the coffin are supporters of the Democratic Party of Durrës and attributes this act to former Prime Minister Sali Berisha.
" The people who brought a coffin to the protest are supporters of the Democratic Party of Durrës (and of a faction within it). Sali Berisha committed this shameful act 28 years ago with the coffin of the late Azem Hajdari ," Balla said.
Further, he describes the use of the coffin as an act that conflicts with Albanian tradition and religious norms.
" Mocking the shroud, in the sense of mocking a symbol associated with death and burial, does not comply with Albanian customs, as well as religious ones, whether Islamic or Christian. I would give you an answer, Sali, but Albanian and religious customs do not allow me ," Balla writes.
The coffin appeared during the 35th day of the protest in front of the Prime Minister's Office, where organizers described it as "Edi Rama's political coffin," within the framework of the symbolism used during the rally.
