Thousands of citizens from all over Albania and the diaspora have begun marching through the streets of the capital, for the 35th time.
After the speeches on the podium in front of the Prime Minister's Office ended, the march of protesters began, moving along the route planned by the organizers.
During the movement, calls were heard for the march to be directed towards Police Station No. 3, where some of the arrested protesters are being held, in order to express solidarity and demand their release.
The rally recorded a high turnout, with thousands of citizens gathered from different cities across the country, while Albanians from the diaspora also took part in the protest.
With national flags, banners and anti-government slogans, protesters are marching peacefully, demanding change and expressing their dissatisfaction with the political and economic situation in the country. The rally was attended by groups of citizens from Kosovo, as well as Albanians living and working in various European countries, who stated that they had traveled to be part of the protest.
The atmosphere was accompanied by numerous chants and messages against the government. Protesters held banners with political messages, while during the event they handed over several symbolic "gifts" to Prime Minister Edi Rama, which, according to the organizers, represented a form of irony and protest against the way of governance.
Thousands of citizens gathered this Saturday on "Dëshmorët e Kombit" Boulevard, in front of the Prime Minister's Office building, in the 35th protest against Prime Minister Edi Rama and the government.
Dozens of Albanians from the diaspora, who have traveled from various European countries to join the protest, also joined the rally. Before arriving at the boulevard, some of them stopped near Police Station No. 3, where they expressed support for the protesters arrested during the rally held earlier near the Parliament. Afterwards, they joined the march towards the Prime Minister's Office.
According to the organizers, the main demand of the protest remains the resignation of Prime Minister Edi Rama. They have stated that the protests will continue until this demand is met, calling on citizens to participate en masse in future rallies.
