The mountainous areas of Shkodër region have been hit by heavy snowfall, with thicknesses ranging from 1 to 1.5 meters in Qafë e Thorës and towards Vermosh. The rainfall is still continuing at a high intensity.
Since 06:30 in the morning, intense snowfall has covered the Gropat e Selcës–Dogana Vermosh segment, part of the Hani i Hotit–Dogana Vermosh axis, at an altitude of over 1000 meters above sea level.
In this segment, 4 snowplows have been deployed to keep the road open. Authorities are urging drivers to exercise extra caution and only drive with winter tires and chains, due to the difficult weather conditions.
