Heavy snowfall has led to numerous power outages in several areas of the southeast of the country. Data from the Korça Regional Dispatch Office shows that a number of feeders have been disconnected due to technical defects, leaving a large number of subscribers without power supply, mainly in rural areas.
Problems have appeared in the Cërrvenakë feeder of the Gur i Kuq substation, which has gone out of service due to a defect. Meanwhile, feeder 4 of the Lozhan substation is partially functioning, causing interruptions for 55 rural subscribers in the areas of Zerec, Kopesh, Dushar and Dobërcan. Feeder 9 of this substation has also been left without power, with around 400 subscribers in Zvarisht, Tresovë and Dolan affected by the interruption.
Outages have also been reported at the municipal feeder 3 of the Maliq substation, which supplies the Dardushë, Nicë and Sterkanj areas, with around 80 families without power. A similar situation is occurring at the Leskovik substation, where feeder JO6 has left the Gjyrakare, Postenan and Peshtan areas without supply, while at the Ersekë substation, feeder 3 has cut off power to 50 rural subscribers in Kamnik, Piskal, Nëdërmarje, Shijan and Kaduc.
Problems have also been identified in Vithkuq, where the feeder of the Rehovë substation is partially out of service, affecting about 250 subscribers in the Lekas area. The municipal feeder Tulla (Pasurim) at the Maliq substation, which supplies Kolaneci and the village of Maliq, with about 300 rural subscribers, also remains without power. Due to technical defects, the feeder of the village of Rehovë, the Potgozhan feeder of the Gur i Kuq substation, as well as feeder 4 of the Mollas and Bilisht substations have also been disconnected.
A total of 1,143 families are currently without electricity in the Korça region and surrounding areas. In most of these areas, the electricity network remains depreciated, which worsens the situation during bad weather conditions.
