Lawyer Kujtim Cakrani described the rape of his colleague Sokol Mêngjesi as a message from the world of crime against the entire legal system.
Cakrani made the comments in a link to Euronews Albania, where he said that there is an anti-lawyer spirit in Albania.
He also added that the area of the former Block where Mngjesi was raped is the 'Columbia' of Albania, since according to him, all the deals between the mafia and politics, prostitution, etc. take place there.
" This is not today, but carried over. Even the State Police treats the lawyer like a rag. Since the prime minister and the ministers have not had a solid and tough reaction. And the Minister of Justice had a reaction with only two lines, referring to the National Bar Association. Even the Minister of the Interior had a suspicious reaction.
This is a blow to the legal system. The event happened in the heart of Tirana. Today, the block is called the Colombia of Albania. Mafia meetings with politics and prostitution take place there. Their going out without masks shows that they wanted to say that we don't count on them.
So a signal is given to public opinion to say hit the lawyers because they are frauds. In public opinion we are anathema. They say you should hang so-and-so on a rope, because you look at who you protect. They said the lawyer should be hanged on the rope. This is an anti-lawyer whistle from the communist system ," said Cakrani.
