Albanian Radio Television is experiencing one of the darkest periods in its financial and institutional history, where injustices among employees have become the norm, while transparency has almost completely disappeared. While dozens of employees of foreign broadcasts have not received their salaries since April 2025, millions of lek continue to be distributed without any problem to certain broadcasts and privileged figures.
According to Pamfleti's continuous denunciations, RTSH employees and collaborators of foreign programs have been left unpaid for months, specifically since April 2025, without any official explanation, without deadlines and without accountability from the institution's leaders. Meanwhile, in the same building and with the same public budget, some programs are paid regularly and at staggering rates.
According to the financial documentation (preventives) we have, the show "Trialog" moderated by Alba Alishani costs RTSH over 64 million old lek for just 6 months, while it is produced by a staff of only four people. A cost that raises serious questions about the ratio between expenses and the content produced.
Likewise, Alban Dudushi's "3D" show turns out to have a cost of over 40 million old lekë for 6 months, with a staff of 3 people. Even in this case, it is about regular and secure payments, in complete contrast to the treatment of other employees who have been waiting for their salaries for months.
This situation reinforces the perception that professionalism and equality are not what counts at RTSH, but strong friends, personal connections, and close interests. Those who have them are paid promptly; those who don't are left in oblivion.
RTSH without financial statement for 2024–2025
The situation is made even more alarming by the fact that RTSH has not published its financial statement for the years 2024–2025, a legal and institutional obligation that should have been fulfilled long ago. The lack of this statement practically turns RTSH into a “private” institution, where public money is spent without accountability and transparency.
Even more worrying is that even when the media has requested official information about expenses, contracts or payments, RTSH has refused to make it available, openly violating the Constitution, which guarantees the right to information.
While employees have been waiting for their salaries for months, millions of lek continue to circulate for a few selected names, turning public television into a symbol of inequality, clientelism, and lack of institutional ethics. / Pamphlet
