Roads damaged by bad weather in Kukës, 50 families still isolated

For more than 10 days, residents of the Xhaferraj-Turraj neighborhood have been isolated due to damage to the main road that connects them to the city of Kukës.

Residents are appealing to the authorities to provide a solution to this situation. Another concern raised by them is related to the massive landslides in the area, which are approaching homes, putting them at risk.

Heavy rainfall has caused serious damage to the main road of the Xhaferraj-Turraj neighborhood, an important connecting axis that ensures communication between this area and the city of Kukës through the Shishtavec and Topojan roads.

As a result of the massive landslide of soil and debris, the road has been completely blocked for more than 10 days, leaving around 50 families isolated. Residents say the situation is becoming increasingly difficult, as the lack of traffic is directly affecting daily life.

Another serious concern of theirs is related to the safety of their homes, as the landslide has come very close to their homes and there is a fear that, in the event of further rainfall, the situation could worsen even further. They are demanding urgent intervention to take measures.

The head of the Democratic Party branch in Kukës, Rrahman Demaj, has also come out in support of the residents' concerns. He emphasizes that the situation is alarming and that the residents of this area have been isolated for days, demanding an immediate response from local institutions.

Meanwhile, Thursday morning found the city of Kukës covered in dense fog, significantly reducing visibility and making it difficult for citizens to move around, especially by car. Traffic difficulties were greatest, especially in the high mountain areas where there is still snow on the road axes.
