The Director of the Durrës Police, Skënder Hita, has narrated details from the investigation into the suicide of Bedrie Loka, and the course that the event took from suicide due to online bullying, to suicide in severe psychological conditions due to domestic violence.
Hita said that after Bedrie Loka's report in 2022 about the page opened on TikTok in her name, a request was sent to the application but there was no response. Also, there was not a single indication from the family members to the State Police about the case, which is the reason why no action was taken.
Hita: We have not had any information that this person was raped, blackmailed by her husband. Undoubtedly, if we had a denunciation, or even an indication, we would not be in these conditions. If there was even a concern from the relatives of the deceased, we would have intervened. We have done all the necessary procedural actions for the case, and we are in these conditions today that her husband, who pushed her to commit suicide, has been arrested.
Duma: Why do you think so? Why do you think her husband pushed her to commit suicide?
Hita: The physical and psychological violence against the deceased has made us start investigations to find out the circumstances and through the minutes and statements, also the videos that are, forced us to take these measures.
Duma: What are the circumstances that led to this point?
Hita: There are many factors. Now I don't want to analyze the family but it is the economic, social and cultural factors for which we all need to do more as a society.
Duma: Tik Tok being a bully that has caused gun injuries and lesser crimes, what can you do to stop this?
Hita: We definitely monitor many of these Tik Tok channels. But since there are many users, we act by watching, keeping under observation, people with criminal records, and when we see it necessary, we intervene to put them before the law.
Duma: After the husband's arrest, will other members of his family be investigated?
Hita: It definitely happened today. In the meantime, we are also waiting for a response from Tik Tok...
Duma: Yes, she hasn't come for a year... Skender, were there other people from the deceased's family who pushed her to commit the act of self-sacrifice? I mean there definitely was.
Hita: There definitely was.
Duma: How will they be considered?
Hita: They were forced to notify the Police, to give even a clue. As long as this has not happened, there will be further actions. We leave it to the investigations. /Top channel
