Journalist Enton Abilekaj spoke about the serious incident in which Judge Astrit Kalaja was killed in the courtroom. Abulekaj said that the justice reform has not increased trust in justice and has not had any positive consequences, given that distrust has already reached the level of murder.
Abilekaj said that the figure of the judge has been trampled upon and attacked by politics, the majority and the opposition together, leaving judges unprotected.
"This new generation is born with the idea of private property, unlike the older generation, who are left without taking it. We don't know exactly what the issue is. What is clear is the lack of trust in the judge, the neutral party, the lack of trust driven by politics, the media. Exploitation in the media of every dissatisfied party and corruption in the courts. This level of distrust was thought to be reduced after the justice reform, but apparently it did not pass, the image of justice remained what it is. Also due to vetting, the number of judges was reduced to the point where we only have one Court of Appeal. The justice reform must be reviewed because it has not had any positive consequences, if the distrust reaches the level of murder.
Increasing trust in judges, the third party, who must give the decision and create trust, must be declared by all parties, including politicians. Even by the prime minister, who says "judge birbo", or the opposition that uses those names for judges. When they insult and threaten judges, the judge's authority is violated. Of course, then the judge remains a person without authority and remains without protection. Security in the courts is zero. Then he is the target of every person dissatisfied with every decision against him , "Abilekaj declared for the show "Të Paekspozuarit".
Regarding Prime Minister Rama's statement, who warned of tightening measures against illegal possession of weapons, Abilekaj stated that in 12 years, the Rama government has not provided a solution to the fundamental problem that led to the incident, the property issue.
"Unlicensed gun ownership is punished, but the prime minister goes to the consequences and not the cause. In Rama's 12 years in government, the property issue has not been resolved. Even these 12 years cause consequences. It is unforgivable for a government not to have resolved an issue that is fundamental for the people and social peace in Albania. Everything starts with property."
What have we raised in these 35 years? A one-year-old or two-year-old has grown up with propaganda, or news and statements, that this state is corrupt, works against citizens and a way must be found to either corrupt the state or fight it, justice is not the right solution. If you choose crime, you can be more successful. These 35-year-olds of today have seen models, they see every day, how challengers of the state are those who benefit more than those who respect the state. When you trust the state, you betray yourself that you cannot solve anything. You grow up with hostility towards the state and one of the pillars of the state is the judicial power. One of the reasons that there are thousands of unresolved processes in Albania are the judges. We have raised this person in this society, which is ready to raise a hand against the police, or the judge. It is the first time that a judge has been hit, but we have had hits and murders of police officers , "said Abilekaj, among other things.
