The phenomenon of erosion in the Porto Romano area and beyond has been evident for years, but recent weather episodes seem to have accelerated the erosive process. As a result, the sand strip has also narrowed significantly.
In addition to natural factors, uncontrolled interventions over the years in this coastal area have also had an impact on the deterioration of the situation.
Experts tell "TCH" that in order to avoid risks to infrastructure and the environment, the design and implementation of a sustainable project for the protection of this part of the coastline is required.
