The Elbasan Police has reacted after the decision to completely block traffic on the "Librazhd-Pogradec" road axis, providing details on the measures taken.
This axis was completely blocked after the bridge was at risk of collapse, following the worsening of the landslide in the "Arrat e Gurrës" area, near Dragostunja.
According to the announcement, only ambulances, fire service vehicles and police vehicles will be allowed to pass through this segment. While all other categories of vehicles will not be allowed to circulate until further notice.
The police emphasize that the measure is mandatory and requires the cooperation of drivers for its implementation.
The announcement states that border checkpoints will also direct drivers not to continue driving on this road segment, in order to avoid congestion and traffic problems.
For small vehicles, the Maliq–Lozhan–Moglicë–Gramsh axis has been designated as an alternative route, in the direction of Tirana and vice versa.
"Following the announcement given regarding the circulation of vehicles on the "Librazhd-Pogradec" road axis, we inform you that there will be a complete blockage of traffic on this road axis until further notice.
In implementation of this decision:
– The circulation of all vehicles is prohibited, including heavy tonnage vehicles, buses and small vehicles;
– Border checkpoints will notify and direct drivers of heavy tonnage vehicles, buses and small vehicles to refrain from continuing their movement on this axis;
– An alternative route for small vehicles will be the Maliq–Lozhan–Moglicë–Gramsh axis, towards Tirana and vice versa.
Only Ambulances, Fire Services and Police Vehicles will be allowed to pass.
Police services are present on the ground to monitor the situation and guide drivers.
"We appeal for understanding and rigorous compliance with the instructions given by the Police structures," the announcement states.
Earlier, the head of the ARRSH, Ami Kozeli, called on citizens to avoid this route, as they will remain blocked in waiting lines.
