Lawyer Spartak Ngjela has commented on the DASH report for Albania, related to the shortcomings with the independence and integrity of the judiciary and corruption at all levels of government. While describing SPAK as an achievement of the Albanian state, Ngjela says that the case remains under investigation and a strike is expected from moment to moment.
"SPAK is a great achievement of the Albanian state. We must understand that it is an investigation and investigations are secret. We must understand that all those points that you have rightly placed on the tab are the special aspects of corruption in Albania. The Special Prosecutor's Office is stuck in the investigation.
The matter remains under investigation, we do not know how it is going. Without achieving this anti-corruption success, Albanian society will always suffer. At this moment, we are waiting for the blow ", said the lawyer for "Report Tv".
Njjela said that corruption in the prosecutor's office and courts led to the creation of SPAK.
"The prosecutor's office and the court were corrupt institutions, but the reform there was not thought to have eliminated corruption. The fact that corruption was not thought to be eliminated came out SPAK. SPAK is artificial creation in the best sense of the word. The current constitution of Albania does not allow to have special courts. But those that have been created are special, no. Because the special prosecution is related to the general prosecution" , he said.
When asked about the attacks of PL leader Ilir Meta on Duman, Ngjela said that he sees it as his attempt to appeal to society to help him.
"This is Meta's public defense. After that comes the call he makes to the society to help him hold meetings. I don't know if we will get there or not. So have all those who have used this method. Meta's loss of balance or rush to accuse is understood to have lost clarity not from fear but from the inner impression brought by the possibility that he could be accused of a crime. The accusation creates a psychic impact. Look at the whole West, no one can go to a criminal trial without being protected by a lawyer" , he continued.
