The Special Prosecution Office has conducted a search of the apartment of one of the socialist MPs in Elbasan as part of the investigation into electoral crimes.
It is reported that the apartment search was conducted a few days ago in the city of Elbasan and the SP legislator belongs to the recent legislature.
According to sources, significant amounts of money and compromising documents related to electoral matters were seized.
Meanwhile, today the Special Structure Against Corruption and Organized Crime (SPAK) in cooperation with the National Bureau of Investigation (BKH) have intensified efforts to investigate and document electoral crimes in the Elbasan Region, one of the most sensitive and problematic areas during the recent electoral processes.
In this context, a delegation of senior representatives of SPAK and BKH held an important working meeting with the head of the Elbasan Judicial District Prosecutor's Office, Mr. Kreshnik Ajazi.
The meeting focused on the exchange of operational information, reviewing the progress of open criminal cases, and analyzing the investigative practices being followed to identify and punish perpetrators involved in electoral manipulation.
Sources close to the investigators indicate that several specific cases related to vote buying, threats against voters, illegal use of state resources during the campaign, and the involvement of persons with criminal records in electoral campaigns are being investigated.
