The three surveillance inspectors at the Port of Durrës, who were arrested two days ago on charges of abuse of office and computer forgery, have been left in prison.
The session was held today and a measure of "prison arrest" was imposed on the 2 customs officers, Denis Musaj and Egnis Gojani, and on the police officer, Adelino Vila, while a measure of "house arrest" was imposed on the civil servant, Alketa Kollçaku.
The persons in question have registered false data in the computer systems in order to allow the passage of vehicles and containers carrying smuggled goods without customs control.
“They recorded false data, abusing their duties, so that vehicles and containers could avoid checks in the PKK and pass smuggled goods, 4 citizens were arrested .
Following the intensive actions of the Police, carried out within the framework of the national mega-operation "Rule of Law", against illegalities in any form of their manifestation, the coded police operation "Synchrony" was organized and finalized. As a result of the operation, the following citizens were arrested for the criminal offenses "Abuse of duty" and "Computer forgery", carried out in collaboration:
E. Gj., 35 years old, A. K., 52 years old and D. M., 41 years old, all three working as supervisory inspectors in the private company that deals with the processing of goods and containers in the port of Durrës, as well as citizen A. V., 27 years old, with position of assistant control specialist in the Border Police of the port of Durrës.
From the investigative actions, it is suspected that these 4 citizens, abusing their duties, in cooperation with each other, have registered false data in the computer systems, with the aim of allowing the vehicles and containers they were transporting to pass without customs control smuggled goods", the police announced two days ago.
