An American delegation has arrived in Albania and conducted inspections in the Akërnia and Portonova areas of Vlora. Drilling is being carried out on the ground for land surveys, raising suspicions of a possible major development project. The visit is unofficially linked to Ivanka Trump's interest, but there is no official confirmation of the purpose or composition of the delegation.
An American delegation arrived at the "Mother Teresa" airport at around 2:00 PM and immediately headed towards Vlora, specifically to the Hidrovori forest area in Akërni. The composition of the delegation has not yet been confirmed.
It is reported that the delegation has closely inspected the territory, where heavy equipment from various companies has been located for several days. It is also reported that drilling for land surveying is also being carried out in the Portonova area, strengthening suspicions of a major development project in this part of the coast by Ivanka Trump, the daughter of the US president.
It is learned that the delegation that arrived this afternoon was escorted by private security forces inside the forest and then left by private vehicle towards Daljan and further towards the Portonova area.
It is about a group of architects, however, there is still no official confirmation on the composition of the delegation or the purpose of their visit.
After this visit to Akërni, the delegation is expected to continue towards the Portonovo area, another point that has often been in focus for potential investments.
This development comes after an unexpected discovery was recorded yesterday in the Akërnia area, near Vlora, where during drilling for land study the presence of natural gas was detected.
Immediately after this finding, the area was surrounded by security tape, while precautions were taken to avoid any possible danger. It remains unclear how to proceed further, as there is no reaction from the authorities. Is this the Trump family's next attempt to invest in Albania?
Recall that a year ago, Jared Kushner and Ivanka Trump's project for Sazan Island made headlines. Shortly after, the government granted strategic investor status to a company affiliated with the son-in-law of US President-elect Donald Trump to build the super-giant and luxurious resort on Sazan.
