Historian Pëllumb Xhufi has shown the origin of the Law of War with Greece, triggered by the PDIU's proposal that the Albanian Assembly ask Greece to abolish this law.
Xhufi said that the Law of War came after the Italian attack on Greece, which, according to him, was carried out through the occupied territory of Albania.
He also showed that after the defeat of the Italian army in Greece, the Germans came to the aid of their ally by occupying Athens.
According to Xhufi, even after Athens was occupied by the Germans, the Greek troops continued to stay in the area called Vorio-Epirus, which they kept occupied by the precedent of the Italian attack.
"The Law of War came at a certain conjuncture, which was the attack of Italy on October 28, 1940 from the occupied territory of Albania towards Greece. The attack of the Italian army was quickly broken by Greece. It was at this time that the law of war was declared, when the Italian offensive stopped and the retreat began. And a law of war came out, which is a law for the enemy citizens of Greece.
On the same day, the state of war against Italy and Albania was declared. I want to say that the true content of this law was shown in the first months. The withdrawal of the Italian army caused the Greek army, strongly supported by the British, as it was their fleet that caused the greatest damage to the Italians.
