Expert Fatjon Softa commented on the latest operation of the Tirana Police, which is related to the second part of the mega-operation 'Tempulli 3'.
Softa gave some details about the arrest warrant and the amount of drugs seized.
"It is another operation, the second phase of Temple 3. The Tirana Police are engaged. 24 arrest warrants have been issued, of which 19 have been executed, 5 are being sought. 2 girls and a lady. In this operation, 1.2 tons have been captured and seized cocaine and endless doses of heroin and cannabis," said Softa.
He further adds that the police operations still do not go to those who he calls wholesalers in drug trafficking, stressing that the investigations must continue.
"It has not yet been possible to go to the wholesalers, because all these people go and get the goods somewhere. Where do they get it? If we say that 1.2 kg of cocaine was caught, it is minimal in relation to the amount of cocaine that is distributed and trafficked in the city of Tirana "These groups should be investigated to get to them. After 24 people, there will be others," said the expert.
Thus, Softa also gave a reflection of the wider situation where Albanians have already become distributors in drug trafficking and bring money to Albania which is cleaned in construction or hotels.
"There is a qualitative step in the Albanian groups, from distributors they have turned into transporters and orderers. The Albanian groups that present a problem in Italy are pure criminals and if this goes to the links between criminal groups and politics, it would be a very important step large. Most of the money that comes to the territory is cleaned in construction, hotels and other services. It is not 1.2 kg of cocaine caught in Tirana but a large amount that comes from illegal activity, that criminal groups are involved also for their connections with the mafia and connections with groups in the countries of the European Union", he said.
Recently, Softa gave a comment about the much-wanted Albanian justice Durim Bami, who has been caught in Dubai and is expected to be extradited to our country. However, the expert finds it somewhat difficult to carry out his extradition.
"Many political events and names have been associated with the name Durim Bami. It is important that the extradition and return to pendito would be a success of justice as criminal events and names would be revealed. Every name that is mentioned is not common but with economic bases and scope wide in the territory. It is positive if it happens because every person who hides will one day give an account before justice.
We hope to have people of this nature, but we need to strengthen our justice system more. We have had all these people who we say are caught from judicial processes that have benefited and received light measures, such as the case of Martinaj and the fort that is in Spain. They were placed under house arrest and then released. We hope that justice will no longer play with two gates," said Softa.
