SPAK has added another accusation to former Prime Minister Sali Berisha regarding corruption. This was announced by the democratic leader himself, who appeared before SPAK in compliance with the "compulsory appearance" security measure that obliges the former Prime Minister to appear before the Special Prosecution Office on the first and third Monday of each month.
In his statement, Berisha said that the new charge that has been added to him is political, and it is related to the benefits his children received from the privatization law.
" Just to inform you that the charges against Sali Berisha also include the fact that after in 1992, citizen Sali Berisha was elected President of the Republic of Albania, remaining in power until 1997, citizen Malltezi, who at that time had no connection with the Partizani file, was found to have begun investments in obtaining rights over real estate.
Now listen to what the assets are.
Referring to the asset declarations submitted to the HIDAA, it is found that citizen Argita Malltezi has evidenced in her declaration for 1993 the ownership of only one residential apartment with an area of 77 square meters on Myzeqari Street, benefiting from privatization, the part that she owns 1/3 of the apartment.
Sali Berisha also declares that he owns a 3+1 apartment, privatized, the real rights of which are owned by his cohabitants, his wife and son.
Now this, that my daughter and my son, in accordance with the law, my daughter owned 1/3 of the apartment as it belonged to her at the time because she was over 18 years old and the housing privatization law provided that children over 18 years old benefit.
This was given as an accusation of corruption by the political prosecution.
Once again, the prosecution provides conclusions that are not only unrelated to the facts, but are illogical.
For example, the Special Prosecution, in order to aggravate the facts as much as possible, despite not giving a criminal nature, states that after in 1992, citizen Sali Berisha was elected president, remaining in power until 1997, citizens Malltezi are found to have begun investments to gain rights over real estate.
Maltese citizens have benefited, just as 1 million Albanians have, from the privatization of housing.
At that time, both were not heads of households, but were members of families that privatized in accordance with Law 7652.
"This is the novelty of the accusation of Altin Troplini and the former State Security executioner, as well as Enkelejda Fetahu ," said Berisha.
