A few days ago, the blood feud claimed its next victim in the city of Lezha, where 57-year-old Pjetër Kaza was killed. He was executed in the yard of his apartment and the perpetrators are suspected to be members of the Gjoni family, with whom he is at enmity.
Discussing the phenomenon of blood feuds and isolation, forensic expert Ervin Karamuço said that there are two paths for people involved in blood feuds. The first is arming individuals whose lives are in danger, and the second is removing weapons through amnesty.
"We have had cases where we have taken their weapons and they know what they are doing, this is not politics. Either we will arm everyone or we will take away all the weapons. I am for liberalization. Let them keep their weapons for the rest of their lives. They keep them with permission, if you are threatened, they keep their weapons outside their homes," he said on the "Top Story" show.
