This time, not without purpose, the Embassy of Italy was chosen to host this edition, a country that is traditionally a friend and permanent partner of our country. With the aim of creating the "middle leg" of our cultural bridge, I invited mayors of Arbëresh municipalities.

It should be noted that the Italian Embassy is located in one of Vienna's most historic buildings, "Palais Metternich".

In this magical evening, where participants were from the diplomatic corps in Vienna and central Austrian institutions, our artists in Vienna also shone: Gesu Zefi (soprano), Kosti Deti (piano) and Kristi Hifzi (piano).

Amidst the sounds of the piano and the voice of the soprano, excerpts from the literature of our two countries were read. The Ambassador of Italy, Giovanni Pugliese, read in German an excerpt from Ismail Kadare’s “Chronicle in Stone”, while I, also in German, read an excerpt from the novel “La collina del vento” by the renowned Arbëresh writer Carmine Abate. After me, Mr. Ernesto Madeo read the same excerpt in Italian.
