Disappearance of the independence document, collector's confession: It

On Flag Day, two well-known collectors Eros Hoxha and Julian Demeti brought to the public on the show "Rreze Dielli" on Report TV, some original documents that tell the story of the Independence of Albania. In a rare story, collector Eros Hoxha focused in detail on the only brochure that exists as a trace of an independence document, which has disappeared. He said that the document may be managed by family members of the former dictator Hoxha or is located outside Albania.

"Here I have the brochure published by Lef Nosi, this document is the only trace that reflects the signatories of our country's independence. It was made public twice, in 1937 and in 1942, we know that it was managed by Enver Hoxha's government. The document was never made public again, it was not even submitted to the archive," Hoxha said.

The Chairman of the Collectors Association, Julian Demeti, also said that there are several hypotheses.

Collector Hoxha also stopped at another rare document by Feri Hoxha, who sent a letter to former dictator Hoxha in which he wrote about several acts of representation.

"Following my letter dated October 24, 1962, allow me to give you a gift for the anniversary of independence and liberation: 4 acts of representation, the act of the original representation of the people, of the Vlora delegates of Ismail Qemali, the second act is the Catholic Archbishopric of Albania that represented Durrës, the other act Vehbi Dibra and another that represented Ferit Vokopola himself, Lushnja and Berat, these he donated to Enver Hoxha", read the collector Eros Hoxha.

The collectors presented to the public another original piece of evidence, that of the Act of Independence of Peqin, formulated in Albanian and Ottoman. They explained that this document is not in the state archive, because it also contains the signature of Dervish Biçaku, who in 1945 was declared a war criminal by the Executive Committee of that time.

"If this document had been handed over, I assure you it would have been destroyed," said collector Hoxha.

But how was the flag that is today decided?

"Collectors brought to the studio some sketches, models when discussing what the Albanian flag would be like. The four vilayets in 1911 proposed what the flag would be like. They cast lots, the flag that was raised by the Gjirokastra battalion in 1912 was proposed, in the end the flag with the star up and two crowns was chosen, but it was not the communist star," Hoxha said.

The President of the Collectors' Association, Julian Demeti, unveiled a rare collection of coins to the public. "Among the rarest are the coins that were issued in 1924. I would single out those from Vlora that have the image of Ismail Qemali, but the coins from Elbasan are also very rare," he underlined.
