Following the shocking murder of judge Astrit Kalaja inside the Elbasan courthouse, the judges of the Republic of Albania have issued a unified statement today.
The statement was read by Judge Albana Boksi, who, on behalf of the entire judicial body, clearly stated: "Politics must stop the hate speech against judges and the justice system. Meanwhile, the Supreme Court of Justice must do its duty, without delay, without silence, without fear."
Meanwhile, she demanded that the judge be declared a "Martyr of the Homeland".
" In memory of the judge who fell in the line of duty, Astrit Kalaja, we ask:
-Recognition of the status of "Martyr of the Homeland" to Judge Astrit Kalaja.
"The Judges' Meeting Hall near the KLGJ building should be named after the late judge Astrit Kalaja ," she said.
