In the meantime, the obligation to appear remains in force for journalists Elton Qyno and Artan Hoxha.
The measures requested earlier by SPAK and previously decided by GJKKO, have been confirmed today (November 27).
We recall that SPAK revealed details from the investigation of the mafia organization suspected to be led by Suel Çela and the criminal episodes in which its members were involved. For this investigation, the Special Court issued arrest warrants for 18 people, including former judge Pajtime Fetahu and former police officer Dedan Gjoni, one "house arrest" measure for a lawyer and two "compulsion to appearance" for two journalists.
Through an official announcement, the Special Structure made it known that in order to control the territory, the organization engaged in cocaine trafficking from Latin America to Europe, aimed at the physical elimination of members of a rival criminal group in Elbasan.
All activity was financed by drug trafficking money. Referring to the investigation based on SKY ECC coded communications and other investigative actions, SPAK holds the members of this group responsible for the attempted murder of Ardian Çapje, June 2020. Çapje was shot with a sniper at a distance in the yard of the apartment of his. The criminal organization allegedly provided the conditions and means for the execution of Bledar Muca and Elton Kila in two separate events in 2020.
In the field of drug trafficking, SPAK blames this organization for the attempted trafficking of almost 930 kg of cocaine from Ecuador to Europe in December 2020 and that of 466 kg of cocaine in January 2021. In addition to the leader, Suel Çela, in key roles in the organization criminal SPAK singles out Mario Çela, Bujar Shega, Klaus Matish and Ghino Roka. According to SPAK, the organization was able to bribe the Police functionary, Dedan Gjoni, and judge Fatima Fetahu, who supplied them with information, as well as offering them facilities. Through influencing the judiciary, the organization eased the criminal positions of its members in confrontations with justice, as well as aggravated the positions of members of the opposing group.
In the official announcement, SPAK states that Suel Çela intended to manipulate public opinion by presenting his rivals as untouchable due to their political connections, increasing his positions and harming his rivals. According to SPAK, Çela has realized these goals through cooperation with journalists Artan Hoxha and Elton Qyno, who, against illegal monetary benefits, have taken positions in the media, as well as published articles and videos that misinformed and manipulated public opinion.
According to SPAK, the investigation continues for the documentation of criminal activity for other suspected persons.
