Lawyer Arbër Hoxha has stated that in Albania there is an inflation of the words criminal group and criminal organization. According to him, in our country they can be counted on the fingers of one hand.
Hoxha explained that the main problem in Albania is dirty money, reporting on the figures of euros that the Bank withdrew within a year due to market distortion.
" There is no mafia, there is a structured criminal group and criminal organizations. Only a very small part deserve the term criminal group and even fewer criminal organizations. In our country, they can be counted on the fingers of one hand. In Albania, there is market distortion. There is a flow of money into black channels. For 2024 alone, the BoA withdrew 1 billion euros, which are informal, but are money that have entered black channels. A strategy is needed to combat criminal groups ," Arbër Hoxha said on A2 CNN.
