The General Prosecutor's Office responded today to the CEC's letter regarding the mayor of Kucova, Kreshnik Hajdari.
The Mayor of Kuçova, Kreshnik Hajdari, is convicted in the Greek state. In the response that the General Prosecutor's Office sent back to the Central Election Commission, it is said that Hajdari was sentenced to a final sentence by the Court of First Instance in Ioannina.
According to the decision, Hajdari was sentenced to 4 months in prison, a sentence which was converted into a fine of 1500 drachmas, decision taken on June 23, 1999.
The decision of the Decriminalization Office at the General Prosecutor's Office is now in the "hands" of the Central Election Commission, which is expected to decide on the mandate of the socialist Hajdari, who was re-elected for a second term at the head of the Kuçova Municipality on May 14.
Hajdar was requested to be deregistered from the race on the suspicion that he had concealed a conviction in Greece, but despite this, the CEC allowed his candidacy in the local elections.
