The Tirana municipality website, Tirana.al, was attacked on Friday by a group of hackers, making online access impossible.
The attack in question was claimed by the Iranian hacker network "Homeland Justice", who are also responsible for the attack on Albanian online institutions in 2022.
In an interview on "Tirana Live" on ABC News, forensic expert Ervin Karamuço said that according to him, these are not attacks that come directly from Iran. Karamuço said that these attacks come from within the country. However, it remains for the investigation to shed more light on the case in more detail.
"These are not attacks coming directly from Iran, but from within the country. They are under investigation. There have been persistent suspicions that this is not the authentic page of those who attacked us at the time ," he said.
