Head of Civil Emergencies Haki Çako has given details about the fire that occurred at the Deutsch Color paint factory on the Tirana Durrës highway. Çako said that the fire reached these proportions because of chemical substances.
" It's been about four hours since a massive fire broke out at the DC paint manufacturing plant. Fire engines from all municipalities of Tirana prefecture have been activated. It is a fire which has reached proportions due to chemicals or products in production. It has been brought under control and the fire continues.
The greatest danger lies with firefighters who are close to the fire, which has extreme temperatures and the temperature created by burning chemicals. For residents there are no such risks.
There was no need to evacuate residents. The fire site has been cordoned off. There is burning of materials, because the raw material is concentrated in power or different packages which are burning. We hope to eliminate it as soon as possible ," he said in a link to Report Tv.
