
The railway line that will connect Durrës with Pristina and that will pass through Shkodra, has made the Minister of Infrastructure of Kosovo Liburn Aliu, together with the MP Mimoza Kusari go to Shkodra.
They met the mayor, Benet Beci, who focused on the importance of the railway line and the return of Shkodra to a regional center.
"During the strategic discussions for Shkodra during the time we have been working for many years on how to develop the city, it has always been the re-creation of Shkodra as a center in its historical and economic relations with the entire region. Ku Gjakova, the part of Kosovo has had an important historical economic role in the relations with Shkodra", declared Beci.
For the Minister of Infrastructure, Liburn Aliu, focusing on the relations between the two countries, emphasized that Shkodra was not in vain a center once that is being revived and is taking its form again.
"Prishtina is already a crossroads of all lines and corridors within the region. The traffic of the Port of Durrës increases automatically because it reaches everywhere through Pristina, but the value of Pristina increases because all those goods come and are distributed through Pristina", declared Liburn Aliu, the Minister of Infrastructure in Kosovo.
After the meeting, they closely inspected the railway station of Mjeda, which will become an important connecting point of the railway line Albania - Kosovo. The railway is estimated to have a cost of 700 million euros.
