Chronicle journalist Artan Hoxha said that the killing of the well-known Iraqi mobster, Mustafa Aljiburi, known by the nickname "Benzema", was greeted with celebrations by his rivals in Sweden and other countries in the Middle East.
Hoxha revealed new details from the "Hollywood scenario of the assassination", which was carried out by the 19-year-old Albanian, Xuliano Prenga.
According to the journalist, Prenga is originally from the village of Gjegjan in Puka and left at the age of 8 to live in Sweden with his family.
The young man may have been recruited by Benzema's rivals, who had placed a 1 million euro bounty on his head.
The journalist discovered that the 19-year-old asked his mother to give him money to travel from Sweden to Baghdad to meet a friend, but she did not allow it. Then, the masterminds of the assassination cut him a ticket and sent him to execute one of the biggest mobsters in the Middle East.
According to Hoxha, Benzema's murder caused all broadcasts in Iraq to be interrupted and the event to receive maximum attention.
He added that Prenga had a Swedish passport, but the Eagle tattoo identified him as being of Albanian origin.
"What surprises me is the fact that it is possible that the moment when he gets out of the motorcycle and commits the murder is fixed, since it is the moment after he commits the murder and leaves. It's like a movie scene. At the first moment, all transmissions were interrupted and this event was entered. This is how I was informed on the first day, but I found it unbelievable that an Albanian would commit a murder in Baghdad. But the person who told me had recognized him from the information provided by the police, as he had an eagle tattoo and they initially suspected that he might be Albanian. It comes from a Catholic area and has nothing to do with the Muslim faith that this group has" , said Hoxha in "Euronews Albania".
Benzema was one of the three leaders of the 6,000-member group, the Foxes of Kurdistan, a group that controls drug trafficking in Scandinavian countries and the Middle East.
