The blockade of the company "SORI-AL", which is suspected of poisoning students of the Security Academy, appears to have lasted only 5 days.
On May 14, the AKU announced the company's closure, after analyses conducted at the ISUV reference laboratory showed that eight samples were within the permitted norms, while a pasta sample, a ready-made product taken from the Security Academy kitchen, was found to be non-conforming due to an above-normal load of Escherichia coli and coagulase-positive Staphylococcus bacteria.
But today the AKU has come out with another announcement. According to it, after the checks that were made for environmental hygiene and work equipment within the kitchen premises of the Security Academy, Sauk and within the kitchen premises of the Garrison, of the Armed Forces, the parameters have been normal. For this reason, the unblocking of the company "SORI-AL" has been made.
" Following the announcements made by the National Food Authority, regarding the follow-up of the case of poisoning of trainees at the Security Academy in Sauk, we inform that the AKU carried out the procedure of taking samples for environmental hygiene and work equipment within the kitchen premises of the Security Academy, Sauk and within the kitchen premises of the Garrison, of the Armed Forces. After analyzing them at the ISUV Reference Laboratory, we inform that they have resulted within the permitted norms for hygiene indicators.
Referring to these reports-evidence, the inspection procedure was carried out at the addresses within the premises of the Security Academy, Sauk, Tirana and within the premises of the Armed Forces Garrison, Tirana. At the end of the procedure, the AKU unblocked the activity of the entity SORI-AL, and assigned it the task of conducting self-control analyses for the finished product within the premises of the Armed Forces Garrison, in accordance with the requirements of the legislation in force , "announces the AKU.
The company "SORI-AL", owned by Alma Tafani, Nikolin Jaka's wife, provided three-meal catering for students of the Security Academy. The company's administrator has been declared wanted by the police.
Meanwhile, chef Kujtim Ballgjini and food technologist Kristjana Plaka have been arrested in connection with this matter, while another food technologist is being investigated at large.
According to official data, by the end of 2025, the company "SORI-AL" has won 75 public tenders with a total value of 4.2 billion lek.
