Heavy traffic and kilometer-long queues have been created on the Tirana-Elbasan highway, where hundreds of vehicles have remained blocked for more than two hours.
According to reports from drivers, movement on the axis is almost paralyzed, while the three-row column of vehicles stretches from the exit of the Elbasan tunnel to near the Bradashesh roundabout.
Sources indicate that the cause of the situation is the development of the second stage of the cycling tour, scheduled to take place this Monday, May 19, 2026.
According to the announcement, the Lezhë-Vorë-Golem-Rrogozhinë axis ending in Elbasan has been blocked since 12:00 due to sports activity.
Meanwhile, drivers and passengers continue to wait in traffic for hours, while so far there has been no official reaction regarding the management of the situation and the time for normalization of traffic.
