Albanian heroes; myths, enigmas and symbols!

The heroes of Albanians, are they only historical or also mythological? Have our heroes sacrificed themselves for the people or have the people sacrificed them for their own interests? Heroes who take their cue from people's lives, just as this show took its cue from the day of the death of our National Hero, Gjergj Kastrioti...

Eljan Tanini: Professor Gazmend Leka, what is adaptation, why do heroic myths take their cue from real life?

Gazmend Leka : January 17, the day of Skanderbeg's death, was the impetus for this show. He is the greatest figure of our nation, everyone is concerned with him, he is the only Albanian for whom there are many works. To simplify the conversation a little, in 3 points:

1. I would like January 17th to be declared a permanent national day of mourning.

2. The Albanian state should work with the Vatican to make Skanderbeg a saint.

3. Skanderbeg's weapons in Austria should be brought to Albania, and a chapel, a pantheon, should then be built there!

The hero is visible, like everyday people, he has some characteristics. The hero has had parents, such as a god of heaven and a daughter of earth. Heroes have emerged triumphant but have also sacrificed. Achilles himself would rather be a swineherd on earth than suffer underground. The gods have often made the life of the hero, there are many peoples who do not have stories with heroes.

Heroes are generally male. Heroes are often half human and half other beings. One of the greatest heroes is Prometheus. Heroes lift humanity up by giving it fire just when people are in the mud.

Mythological heroes do feats. We are a kind of Hercules, Theseus and Prometheus. Heroes have taught us that you cannot see the center, absolute knowledge is untouchable. Heroes have taught us in life that the peak and the center are never broken. You cannot see absolute truth with your eyes, nor the sun. Some true things are never said.

Mythological heroes are good warriors. Heroes find and bring fire. Christ and Muhammad are civilizing heroes, they came for their people. In Albania we have many heroes of peace and war. The hero is the inner struggle.

Eljan Tanini: Ermir, Enver's heroes, how are they displayed in visual art?

Ermir Hoxha : -Our first and only national hero is Gjergj Kastrioti. A hero is often what the people want him to be, just as there is an official hero with his movement, there is also a hero beyond the frames!

Nexhmedin Zajmi's Skanderbeg is the hero of the new era which needs such images, because the past is important to show a nationalist communism in the future. It was the time when Haxhi Qamili would become a national hero. Azem Galica, the hero with confident gestures and actions.

Mic Sokoli, the hero who dominated over evil, the white one and the black evil. Mic Sokoli, Hamit Shijaku, Vojo Kushi are figures who triumph over evil.

The brave men of Azem Galica united with the motherland and became one with the land. The brave men of Bajram Curri, the time when people followed a cause. The heroes were also illegal. The partisan with half military uniform and half shepherd.

Pure heroes survive all times. Hero, heroine in socialist realism is also a partisan woman. Mehmet Shehu, the hero in the painting who entered the black background.

Enver Hoxha, "the hero who went to the black fund, he was the commander with minimal gestures, his presence was enough. The red color also helped the system in painting, pleasing to the eye. Enver Hoxha was almost a Christ in painting./ Essence
