SPAK has signed 31 arrest warrants, of which 26 have been executed, 5 are wanted.
A criminal group that was involved in the trafficking of Albanian immigrants to England and Ireland through Spain was hit in the framework of an operation coded "Nomads" under the direction of SPAK and executed by the State Police.
Police Director Muhamet Rrumbullaku appeared at a conference to give details about the operation against migrant trafficking.
It should be noted that SPAK has signed 31 arrest warrants, of which 26 have been executed, 5 are wanted. Among those arrested is also an executive level police officer.
The police also discovered a laboratory where passports of EU countries were forged. Also, thousands of euros and 10 Italian passports, 120 notarial contracts for sale and purchase of real estate were seized.
At the conference, Rrumbullaku also showed the scheme used by the criminal group. He said that the border crossing was done with their regular personal documents, while the forged documents were mailed to the hotel where they were staying.
Rrumbullaku has also indicated that during the operation, a quantity of money, drugs, a laboratory for forging documents and vehicles were seized.
"7 vehicles, 1 money counterfeiting laboratory, 10 Italian passports, a firearm, 10 laptops, 15 computers used for transactions, narcotics, 47 mobile devices and gold pendants were seized. The subjects carried out illegal activity, where they received money to forge documents. "Albanian citizens left for the EU with their documents, but forged documents were sent by mail to the hotels where they stayed or the residences where they settled," said Rrumbullaku.
SPAK has not come out with an official statement about the operation, but sources say that checks were carried out in 50 premises.
The operation to arrest suspects for migrant trafficking has also brought investigators from Spain, Italy, Kosovo, the USA to our country.
The criminal group is accused of trafficking immigrants, enabling them to pass by land or air with false passports.
The Directorate of the Special Operational Force, the Criminal Police Department, the National Security Forces, the Eagles and the general patrols of the DVP Tirana participated in the operation.
