The story of Darda, the 19-year-old from Korça, who lost the battle against acute leukemia, has touched everyone's hearts.
Darda learned that he was suffering from this serious disease when he went to donate blood for his peers.
The nurses did not advise her to donate blood, as the tests showed a low level of hemoglobin, while after some more detailed tests, she discovered the diagnosis of acute leukemia.
On August 31, 2023, Darda wrote a letter, as a message to all Albanians, which was published today on the show "Rudina" on TV Klan.

"Who would have thought that this summer would be like this!
I miss the beach, the waves, getting sunburned, I miss being with friends and hugging them.
Being isolated is definitely not the best way to spend the summer…
Some updates for you all:
Yesterday I started my third cycle of chemotherapy, which means I may have five more to go. Finally, everything seems to be getting better day by day.
There are always moments when I am in pain, tired, moments when I fear for the future or sometimes emotional, but I can assure you that God always finds a way to bring back my smile and my joy!
All these days and especially today I have felt so encouraged and I have tried to enjoy every special moment while it lasts.
I am starting to enjoy different places in the hospital and every moment spent with all the medical staff here. I especially enjoyed this beautiful sunset today!
So as you read this, here is a message from me and my experience so far:
Please enjoy each day as a gift from God, enjoy the morning when you are able to wake up and feel your lungs filling with oxygen, enjoy your physical health and enjoy every moment spent with your family and friends!
Unfortunately I haven't been able to do any of this since I got sick so please do it for me! Hug your loved ones and above all don't forget to thank the only one who gives us life and hope! Only when we lose something do we realize its value!"
